  Area Description

Our Kazimierz Apartment is located in a peaceful small street in Kazimierz, the lively former Jewish district of Krakow. A small town in a big city, Kazimierz owes its unique atmosphere to the historical neighbourhood and has many interesting attractions: galleries, antique shops, restaurants, original bars and pubs.

For those who are interested in visiting historic monuments, museums, galleries,  medieval and baroque churches and synagogues, our apartment is a perfect starting point.

There are good local shops, plenty of places to eat out (regional cuisine, Jewish cuisine, vegetarian meals, etc.) and probably the best pubs in the world!

The riverside of Vistula is an excellent place to have a stroll, do jogging or just rest in the shade of trees. In the summertime, you can go for a pleasant boat sightseeing-ride on the nearby river. There is also a playground just round the corner.

Szeroka Street Close by our apartment is a public swimming pool, an ice field, greens market, flea market and much more! There is also a guarded parking area nearby (5 min.).

Krakow is only 20 minutes from Wieliczka (worldwide unique salt mines), 30 minutes from National Ojcowski Park and 100 km from the winter capital of Poland - beautiful Zakopane city (Apartments in Zakopane) and  Tatra Mountains (hiking, skiing).

We’d love to share our expertise and knowledge of Krakow with travelers and can provide you with a unique and rewarding experience only possible when you know the locals.

August 2013:
This was our first time to Krakow and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Myself, husband and fifteen year old son wanted something a bit different this year, so booked 10 nights in this Krakow apartment to use as a base for the city, the salt mine and the war history.
The apartment is in a great location - just a few minutes away from the excellent bars and restaurants in the Jewish Quarter, and a stroll in the other direction takes you along the river to the Wawal Castle. The terrace is great, with views of the sunset and the river.
Yes, it's up five floors and there's no lift, but it's not a shock after the first couple of times, and cheaper than a gym workout. The location, terrace and the views more than make up for it.
The apartment is well furnished, spacious and well equipped, and we'd definitely book again.

Sian, June 2013:
The apartment is spacious, comfortable and the perfect place to end a great day in Krakow. The apartment is on a quiet street with no noise at night, but is just a minutes walk from buzzing parts of Kazimierz.
The best part is the balcony, with a great view towards the river, green vines, and chairs to sit out on. It made for a wonderful evening in the sun.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a relaxing space of your own in Krakow.

Van Der Loo, May 2013

We were extremely pleased that this apartment lived up to the write-ups and reviews we had seen on the web. Everything was very clean and it was incredibly well equipped including a computer with internet access at no additional charge. The balcony was a real bonus and provided the feeling of outdoor living in a green and leafy area of the city. Nothing was too far to walk and the local shops and restaurants were also good and cheaper than the tourist centre. I would also recommend the airport transfers provided - very efficient and easy.

Ideally situated in the lovely Kaminierz district of Krakov, the apartment is a perfect base for exploring this wonderful city. Details in the listing give an accurate indicator of what to expect and the apartment is very comfortable and well appointed. Four adults had plenty of room and the terrace is a fantastic feature. Spotlessly clean and well maintained, the property is personally cared for by Jacek who was there to greet us and to see us off. We always knew that he could be contacted at any time should the need arise. We would recommend the property for anyone wanting a convenient, quiet base for organising visits around the town. The tram stop at the end of the next street means access to the city centre could not be easier. As the apartment is on the top floor a reasonable level of fitness is needed to make the stairs less daunting, but this is a minor issue otherwise, and the city panorama more than compensates. Kaminierz, as the former jewish quarter, is full of rambling streets, small shops and cosy bars and restaurants, with visits to synagogues and the Gallician Museum of Jewish history being particular highlights of our stay. In many ways it has a village feel within the city and is a real delight.
We would fully recommend this property and we had a thoroughly enjoyable week.

"Fabulous family-friendly city break in Krakow"

We had a really lovely weeks holiday staying in Krakow at the Kazimierz apartment. The apartment owner arranged a transfer for us from the airport, and was very helpful throughout our stay; easy to contact when needed with a friendly and relaxed approach. The apartment was spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable and the balcony was as good as it looks on the picture; it was a lovely place for breakfast and evening drinks. There is no lift in the apartment block but nevertheless we were happy to walk the few flights of stairs with two kids and a buggy because the balcony and its lovely views were well worth the effort. We felt the balcony railings were closely spaced enough to be safe for young children, so didnt have to worry when they were with us on the balcony. The apartment is in a good location, a short walk or easy tram ride to the main Market Square. There was always something entertaining going on in the market square and lots of nice eating places - being vegetarian abroad with small kids is not always easy, but in Krakow there are many italian restaurants so there was always pizza/pasta and of course many restaurants offering pierogi. There is also a great Aqua Park (Park Wodny) not too far away, which our kids really liked. We certainly found enough to do to fill the week and thought Krakow was a beautiful, charming city that is easy to explore. And the weather in August was fabulous! I would highly recommend both the apartment and Krakow. I can't wait to return!

I would happily recommend your apartment to anyone. The facilities were excellent and we really couldn't have hoped for more. The apartment was clean & tidy & although in a quiet side street, it was only a few seconds walk to the nearest grocery & less than a ten minute walk into the old town area. The balcony was a major bonus & we spent every breakfast looking out onto the beautiful park & river below. The local district was also a pleasant surprise with its own character & an extensive array of bars & shops. I almost preferred this to the town centre as it was predominantly populated & frequented by locals rather than tourists. The town itself was beautiful & although compact there was still a lot to see & do. So much, in fact, that we have already decided to return & will certainly be staying with you again.

Magnifique appartement situé dans un quartier calme à proximité du centre historique de Cracovie. Idéal pour une découverte de la ville à pied.

We had a great time in Poland. The flat was lovely and spacious and very well provisioned. It fet very "homely" and it was a nice touch having the plants scattered through the flat and on the balcony. The covered balcony was great, it was like having an extra room, and we enjoyed having our breakfasts out there overlooking the park and the river. It took us a couple of days to realize how close we were to the path along the river leading to Wawel castle and the town which was a much nicer way of walking into town. We recommend any visitor should by the guide "Krakow in your pocket" for its no nonsense guide of where to eat and things to do. There was always something going on in the central square, which was also great, and generally there was lots to see and do. We always felt safe and unthreatened walking around.

The apartment in Kazimierz is clean and spacious with all the comforts of home including well appointed kitchen, reliable hot water to bath and shower. The covered balcony offers lovely views over the Vistula and southern Krakow and we found it a great delight to sit on the balcony for breakfast and in the evening and enjoy the view. The apartment also offers a variety of entertainments including television, and video, CD and DVD players (including a selection of CDs and DVDs). Not that we had much time to take advantage of these facilities since Krakow has too much to offer to spend many evenings in the apartment. The main square and Wawel castle are only a 15 minute walk away but frequent buses and trams stop approx 100 meters from the apartment and these will take you to the center in about 5 minutes. The landlord, Mr. Celer was very friendly and helpful and offered a number of additional services if you required them such as taxi services from the airport and themed guided tours of Krakow. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment and the beautiful city of Krakow and would not hesitate to stay there again.

We loved this apartment. It was everything previous reviewers have said except no one has written that the apartment is on the 5th floor (6th in the US) with no elevator. We don't consider ourselves to have disabilities but one of our party had definite problems with the approximately 105 steps. Other than that we loved the terrace and the rooms which were very light and clean. The ability to do laundry was wonderful and Jacek was always just a phone call away. There are grocery stores and a bakery nearby. We visited the bakery every morning for a fresh breakfast treat. The trams run only a block away and there is a Tourist Info office within 5 blocks which was helpful. Although there are many good restaurants nearby we recommend eating at Pierogi Paradise and walking up to the church Pauline, Church on the Rock besides the more known tourist places. Also the Polish Folk Museum, only 2 blocks away was great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Krakow. Kazimierz is a fascinating area of the city, full of atmosphere and a sense of history. All of my family, from the oldest to the youngest, found lots to do, from tennis, cycling and go-karting for the children, to museums and galleries for the older ones. The people were friendly and welcoming, and the flat was very comfortable and well equipped. The city has a lovely relaxed feel about it, and the hot and sunny weather was ideal for holiday makers from Scotland! Even when it rained, I didn't mind because it was so warm. I will definitely be recommending Poland to my friends.

Great location just a 20 min. walk to Main Square. Nice apartment with plenty of space and amenities. The balcony is fabulous and the kitchen offers enough to cook in if you don’t feel like going out. I would highly recommend this apt.

Karina Woll, Germany, 16 January 2009
